Description
To accommodate another 2000 students, the University in Marseille expanded with a new building. The building houses new exercise rooms, lecture rooms, a large auditorium, a library, and a cafeteria.
To protect the interior from the sun, 171 m² of semi-transparent wire mesh were installed at the façade. The architectural wire mesh type DOKAWELL-MONO 3601, with its open area of 52%, works as an effective sunscreen. Behind the screen, a comfortable, fresh, and light internal climate is created with almost-transparent mesh.
Haver & Boecker Wire Weaving supplied ready-to-install, stainless-steel wire mesh elements with a height of 2.8 m and a width of 2.2 m. They were fixed with the mounting system of tension profiles, clevis screws, and pressure springs.
